Introduction

Welcome to the 12th Annual Greenville Jaycees Flat Out 5K and One Mile Fun Run!
The Flat Out 5K and Fun Run is an annual charity event put on by the Greenville, NC Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). The race proceeds benefit the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill, the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center in Greenville and S.A.F.E. House of Pitt County.

The NC Jaycee Burn Center is a 21-bed unit in UNC Hospital dedicated to providing the crucial combination of specialized treatment and rehabilitation to severely burned patients. The Center has research, education, prevention, and training programs. The Center is most recently noted for their work with the victims of the West Pharmaceutical explosion in Kinston earlier this year.

The Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center serves the 29 counties of Eastern North Carolina with a full range of diagnostic and treatment services and includes the region's only stem cell transplantation unit. The Cancer Center is know for its ground-breaking research.
