Adopt-A-Highway

If you drive out of Greenville on Stantonsburg Road (264W) towards Raleigh, before you leave Greenville you'll see a sign on the right hand side of the road that says Adopt-A-Highway - Greenville Jaycees. This side marks the beginning of a two-mile stretch of road that the Greenville Jaycees have adopted and keep free of litter and debris all year long.

Four times a year, the Greenville Jaycees meet along the side of the road and don reflective orange safety gear and grab a handful of garbage bags. The east and west sides of 264 are cleaned over the course of three to four hours. Often a local organization will send volunteers to assist the Jaycees in this endeavor. If your organization would like to provide helping hands to clean up this stretch of highway, please contact our President, BJ Smith.
