Young Professionals. Community Involvement.
The Greenville Junior Chamber of Commerce (commonly known as the Jaycees) is a non-profit group that emphasizes leadership development for young professionals ages 21-40 through community service projects/fundraisers, social/professional networking and training.
The Greenville Jaycees welcomes guests, prospective members, and members on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 at RepExpress located off Red Banks Rd. in Arlington Village.
Updated Christmas Parade Line-up & Check-in Times
The check-in location will be at the corner of Clark and 10th St (Beach Bingo parking lot). Please send only ONE representative to check-in and request that others assemble at your line-up location. Please note that these individuals will not be able to drive to this location and must walk there. Pedi-cabs should be available to transport people to and from the Bank of America parking lot and our check-in location.. At check-in, your representative will be checked in by a Greenville Jaycee representative and direct you to your place in the line-up (best route to take, etc.). Parade Officials with clip boards will also be available this morning to help direct you and your organization members to your place in the line-up. In terms of check-in, your vehicle must be here at your EXACT check-in time. Other participants (younger/older/etc.) who are unable to check-in at the assigned time may meet your party later. EVERYONE (including late comers) must be in line-up by 1:00 PM!
See the link above labeled "2009 Parade Check-In"; it will show your party's (entry) parade number and check-in time. As said before, it is VERY important that you check-in promptly at the time assigned. This will allow some of the units to take their places in the line before the other units arrive. Inclement Weather Forecast and Reaction Plan

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Greenville Jaycees want the public to know that we are watching the weather closely as forecasts are predicting rain for Saturday. WITN reports that rain will be scattered throughout the day and heavy rains may hold off until after the parade. The parade is RAIN or SHINE, and at this time the Greenville Jaycees Christmas Parade will go on as scheduled for this Saturday morning – with a start time of 10:00 AM.

I appreciate all of the comments that have been posted in response to the article on reflector.com. I regret any controversy that has been caused by having these events so close together. The decision to keep the parade time at 10:00am was not made hastily. Many factors were considered by the parade committee including comments from past participants, input from the Greenville Police, local media and other city officials.
Parade Update

First, congratulations to the ECU football team for winning the division title and bringing the championship game home to Greenville.
The Greenville Christmas Parade will go on as scheduled Saturday, December 5th at 10:00am. The Greenville Police Department contacted our parade chairperson today and will be putting in to place a preconceived plan which will allow them to cover the parade route and work with the football game.
Come out Saturday morning for the parade and then go support the football team. Go Pirates!
